From the liner notes of the Kingston All Stars debut LP ”Presenting Kingston All Stars”
Composed of some of the most gifted musicians to ever walk the streets of the Jamaican capital, the Kingston All Stars project is a celebration of the heyday of vintage reggae, taking the form of a contemporary music project that pays homage to the glory days of the music’s past. Spearheaded by Canadian producer, engineer & musician Moss Raxlen, who was also the driving force behind the great Rocksteady: The Roots Of Reggae feature documentary, and who produced Lynn Taitt’s last-ever works, the Kingston All Stars revolves around a robust core of legendary session players who have been respectively responsible for the lion’s share of the greatest Jamaican music ever committed to tape.
As part of Reggae Month, our friends at Jack Sprat in Treasure Beach hosted David Rodigan, MBE for the Jack Sprat 15th Anniversary. It was a real community affair with locals and international visitors enjoying the music next to the sea and under the stars. It is even better in person! Jack Sprat (and his cousin, Jakes Hotel, next door) are participating in the Reggae Auction happening now on Alpha Boys School Radio.

Can you count to 100? Alpha Boys School Radio can! Organizers of Spain's annual Rototom Sunsplash are among 99 donors who came to Alpha Boys' School's assistance in their bid to construct a radio on-air/recording facility for the music school in Kingston.
Pledges amounting to US$23,170 were received through a kickstarter campaign which was launched in February and closed on April 7. The target was surpassed by US$170.
Kickstarter, an on-line crowdfunding platform, is the world's largest for creative projects.
"Rototom Sunsplash organisers gave a substantial donation," said Joshua Chamberlain, a director of the Alpha Boys' School.
