The start of school is always exciting. New people to meet and goals to set. This year Alpha was fortunate to have the United States of America ambassador to Jamaica, Ambassador Luis G. Moreno, welcome students as the keynote speaker during the Student-Parent Orientation which marks the beginning of classes. The Ambassador urged students to take advantage of all that Alpha has to offer and even offered his personal experiences growing up and took questions from parents, students and staff. Stay tuned for the Alpha Boys School Radio interview!
Ambassador Moreno said he understands the value of an opportunity. "I've made many mistakes," he told students. "I've lived it. You are lucky because you are given an opportunity. So many never get that chance."
The ambassador also reminded students of the responsibility that comes with opportunity. Responsible citizenship means that younger generations are needed to help create opportunities for the students next in line. We are all in this together so as we move forward and progress, "It's how you treat people is most important".
