TEACHER WORKSHOPS
Sandals Foundation sponsored teacher training workshops led by Alpha School of Music for high school music teachers. Wind and brass instruments are integral to Jamaican popular music. Teacher workshops offer much needed professional training to develop the capacity of Jamaican high schools to provide critical training young brass musicians.
Alpha facilities
The Sandals Foundation sponsored a major round of renovations to significantly enhance Alpha's music programme - performance area, stage backdrop and restrooms. The new facilities helped launch Alpha's Associate Degree in Music Performance - the first of its kind in Jamaica to offer a tertiary music programme focused on ensemble performance.
