The backing band assembled by Jack Lindo includes members of the session group The Soul Syndicate and Bob Marley's touring band, The Wailers as well as past students of the Alpha Boys School.

The Black Disciples Band was a pioneering Jamaican instrumental group formed in the 1970s by Ocho Rios based sound man and producer, Lawrence 'Jack Ruby' Lindo. Known for its deep roots and musicianship, the band became renowned for its tight rhythms and soulful horn arrangements by Alpha past student Bobby Ellis. Best known for their work with Burning Spear, one of their first known recordings is with Tyrone Taylor...

Recorded at Anchor in Kingston, HI YO features the nucleus of the legendary Black Disciples: Robbie Shakespeare (bass, guitar), "Horsemouth" Wallace (drums), "Chinna" Smith (guitar) and Robbie Lyn (keyboards). Arranged by Shakespeare, the album contains 6 songs in the "discomix" format with each song followed seamlessly by it's dub version.
