Sister Iggy was not one to seek the spotlight but we are glad to be able to provide audio recordings of her comments on one of her favourite topics--music!
Marie Davies attended Alpha Academy before joining the Sisters of Mercy in 1938 at the age of 17, taking the name Sister Ignatius. 'Iggy' became the band manager at Alpha Boys School where she also introduced sound system performance techniques. Her respect for, and approach to, music education was ahead of its time.
