Timeless music from the timeless ska group.
The Skatalites (on IG) played initially between 1963 and 1965 including founding members and psat Alpha students Don Drummond (trombone), Lester Sterling (alto), Tommy McCook (tenor) and Johnny Dizzy Moore (trumpet). They played on records by Prince Buster and backed Bob Marley & The Wailers, on their first single "Simmer Down." The Skatalites broke up during the transition to rocksteady and reformed in the 1980s. Current members include past Alpha student Vin Gordon (trombone) and a former Alpha instructor, Okiel McIntyre (trumpet).
