The Alpha School of Music's 2023 Christmas Festival struck a triumphant chord December 14th inside the Alpha Courtyard.

For the third time in the Alpha School of Music history, friends and family of the Alpha community enjoyed high energy, festive vibes and joyous music by ensembles from the Alpha School of Music, Alpha Vocational Training Centre and the Alpha Community Band. Patrons were on their feet and dancing to a wide range of performance styles include ska, reggae, pop, jazz, concert band and Parang. The Alpha School of Music is the only tertiary programme in Jamaica focused on ensemble, or band, performance.

The vocal ensemble is a required course for all ASOM students.

The Alpha Community Band, directed by Peter Ashbourne and Leon Ince, brings together musicians of all ages and backgrounds for weekly rehearsals and performances.

The Alpha Vocational Training Centre provides at risk youth who require an academic and music foundation with two years of specialized training.

All first year students in the Alpha School of Music participate in the guitar ensemble which teaches accompaniment, theory and performance.
